Standing out

We stand out here, we can't help it we just do. We have our "cute" accent that makes people ask where we are from. We homeschool so everytime I am out and about with the kids we are asked "now why aren't you in school today". We were the only people rolling around in two inches of snow the other day. These things we cannot help.

Today when I was working on dinner I noticed this lovely orange leaf on the deck. It is larger than most of the other leaves, it is shaped differently, and it's orange. All the other leaves are brown. But this gorgeous leaf is firey orange.  This got me thinking about the way things stand out and why. Yes we stand out here because of who we are but what what if we stood out because of who we lived for. What if instead of the accent they noticed Christ's love in us? or God's amazing grace? I don't mind standing out, but as I grow older (halfway to 74 you know) I am discovering that I want to atand out for God. What about Y'all?

Snow Day

First snowfall of the season. It was only 2 inches but we loved every bit of it!

Checking In

What a busy couple of weeks we have had. We have been trying to find our way around, raking leaves, making new friends and finally getting our vacuum!

The neighborhood we live in is a sweet and quiet place. We learned that there is another homeschooling family in the neighborhood. And as it works out we are using thr same curriculum and were members of the same facebook page. We have met up with them a couple of times, it has been good to make friends so quickly.

We have spent the last couple weeks visiting churches. It was important to us that we didn't fall into using our move as an excuse to stay home. We have found the church where God made a place for us. It is about 5 minutes from home. It is a smaller church full of the Spirit!

Overall it has been a good couple of weeks.  In the next couple of weeks we have dentist and doctor's appointments for check ups.

Settling in

Who knew we had so much stuff? Seriously though it seems we will forever be wading through a sea of boxes. Unpacking is a work in progress.

We have been lucky to meet a couple of other homeschooling families, one lives in our neighborhood! We took our paper work to the school to let them know we are planning to homeschool. No we just wait for the school to send us a letter saying we turned in all the right stuff.

We have been doing some crazy quick shopping. Trying to make sure the kids have all the winter gear they will need before the first real snow falls.  I am so excited to play in snow!

Once we get things a bit more unpacked we will post some pictures.
